Rolex Middle Sea Race 2022 – Preview

An impressive international fleet of over 100 registered yachts from 25 countries are set to contest the 43rd edition of the renowned Rolex Middle Sea Race. This year also marks twenty years of the partnership between Rolex, the race, and its organizers the Royal Malta Yacht Club. Following the start from the Maltese capital, Valletta on Saturday 22 October, competitors face numerous stringent physical and tactical tests as wind and sea conditions often change dramatically at each corner of the course. The beautiful 606-nautical mile (1,122 kilometre) racecourse features a long anticlockwise circumnavigation of Sicily, two active volcanoes, narrow passages and a myriad of wild islands. While the Maxi monohulls and cutting-edge multihulls will focus on finishing first on the water, the most significant and coveted prize is overall victory on corrected time.
