Conversations | Premiere Artist Talk: Lubaina Himid
Art Basel in Basel, June 14, 2023
Lubaina Himid revisits her influential career as an artist, curator, and teacher with Art Basel’s Executive Editor Coline Milliard. Anchoring their exchange in Himid’s seminal 1986 installation A Fashionable Marriage – a Hogarth-inspired satire of the art world and global politics presented in this year’s Unlimited sector – they chart Himid’s career over the last four decades, from her youth as a key figure in the British Black Arts Movement to her critically acclaimed Tate Modern retrospective.
