• Ngorongoro Crater – This 2,000ft deep crater was originally formed when a giant volcano exploded and collapsed in on itself. It is the world’s largest intact volcanic caldera and is home to the highest density of big game in Africa, making it a top safari destination.
• Olduvai Gorge – A famous paleoanthropological site, this gorge has revealed some of the most important archaeological evidence of human evolution in history. Deposits exposed in the sides of the gorge cover a time span from about 2.1 million to15,000 years ago and include remains of more than 60 hominids (primitive humans).
• The Mara River – In northern Serengeti, the Mara River is the home to dramatic wildlife sightings as the magnificent herds of the Great Migration across the flooding waters – teeming with hungry crocodiles.
