Join us as Nicoletta Fazio, Curator of Iranian Lands at the Museum of Islamic Art, uncovers the many hidden attributes of the Mushaf al-Hadina, also known as the ‘Nurse’s Qur’an.’
A rare, ancient bifolio in vellum, the document was written in the Western Kufic script, with bold and angular cursive letters. It is named after its patron, the nurse Fatima Al-Hadina of the ruler of the Zirid dynasty of Ifriqiya, Al-Mu‘izz bin Badis.

هذه الوثيقة عبارة عن صفحة مزدوجة ونادرة من الرِّق، كُتبت بالخط الكوفي الغربي، بأحرف مخطوطة عريضة وذات زوايا. سُمّيَ المصحف باسم صاحبته الحاضنة فاطمة، مربية المعز بن باديس، حاكم السلالة الزيرية في أفريقيا.
