With its regal decorations, intricately detailed designs of mirror and wood, along with carved poetry around the ceiling edges, the Damascus Room is an immersive depiction of a residential reception room in Damascus of the late Ottoman period.
Presented by Dr Julia Gonnella, Director at the Museum of Islamic Art, discover the many features of the Damascus room and its integral role as an emblem of economic prosperity and trade during the Ottoman period.
