The Savoir-Faire Behind the Plan de Paris Dior Book Tote

In the Dior Ateliers, the season’s Plan de Paris print is magically transposed onto the Dior Book Tote using a virtuoso 3D embroidery technique. In this video by Mélinda Triana tracing the process, Maria Grazia Chiuri shares the story behind the symbolic map design, based on a scarf created by Christian Dior in the 1950s and featuring symbolic locations, from the Faubourg Saint-Honoré, where the founding couturier happened upon his lucky star, to 30 Avenue Montaigne, the House’s iconic address.
