The journey to the deep – Rolex & James Cameron

In 2012, filmmaker and explorer James Cameron made a record-breaking solo dive to the deepest part of the world’s oceans, paving the way for a new era in scientific exploration of the sea floor, the least known area of the planet. Attached to his submersible was an experimental Rolex watch that withstood the colossal water pressure at a depth of 10,908 metres (35,787 feet). “Now,” he says, “we are faced with new challenges, new frontiers, new times. And there’s a new watch, built to meet them.” Introducing the Oyster Perpetual Deepsea Challenge. Discover more https://on.rolex.com/3FswdeR
