Sunreef Yachts X Capt. Sahar

A business is same like the wave on the sea,” Francis Lapp tells Captain Sahar. “Is going up, down, up, down.”

He is speaking about the shipyard he founded in Gdańsk in 1992 with two employees, and the first Sunreef hull that left the yard in 2003. Lapp traces the route from Madagascar through France into Poland, the early composite catamarans, and the night he dreamed of integrating solar panels into a hull — a dream that, a year later, became a patent.

“The shipyard is not only building some machines. Shipyard is handmade.”
