In 2024, 10 outstanding teams from seven countries competed in the waters off Newport, Rhode Island, USA, for one of sailing’s most coveted prizes. Over 10 races, the British crew on Gladiator displayed impressive teamwork and application to secure a first world title. This year’s regatta formed part of the biennial Race Week at Newport presented by Rolex, uniting the championship with the brand’s oldest partner in the sport, the New York Yacht Club.
