Rolex presents: ORKCA – Rewilding a Desert

A first-of-its-kind conservation project in Southern Namibia is on track to create one of the largest rewilding schemes on the African continent. Following two years of meticulous planning, the Orange River-Karoo Conservation Area (ORKCA) has translocated wildlife for the first time. With support from our Perpetual Planet Initiative, springbok, oryx and ostriches have been released onto the land – taking ORKCA one step closer to restoring this once-thriving ecosystem.
