Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative Fellow: Mariam Issoufou Kamara


Nigerien architect Mariam Issoufou Kamara says her career accelerated after she was mentored in 2018–2019 by the renowned British-Ghanaian architect Sir David Adjaye OM OBE through the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative. The two architects share a conviction that African architecture needs its own identity and continue to collaborate. The mentoring programme holds a special place within the Perpetual Arts Initiative that plays a tangible role in promoting excellence and the future of the arts.
