Rolex Arts Weekend – Highlights, Brooklyn 9–10 September 2022

World-renowned artists Spike Lee, Phyllida Lloyd, Lin-Manuel Miranda and Carrie Mae Weems took part in the Rolex Arts Weekend, co-presented by the Brooklyn Academy of Music (BAM), to celebrate their protégés, whose 2020–2022 mentorships through the Rolex Mentor and Protégé Arts Initiative have concluded. The protégés, respectively filmmaker Kyle Bell, theatre-maker Whitney White, filmmaker Agustina San Martín and visual artist Camila Rodríguez Triana, thrilled audiences with premieres of their work, performances and insightful talks with their mentors. Established in 2002, the Rolex mentoring programme was established to aid in the transmission of artistic knowledge and craft from one generation to the next.
