Rolex and SailGP – Season 3 Preview

Uniting the world’s most talented sailors and the vanguard of foiling technology, SailGP has redefined the sport of sailing. Its unrelenting pursuit of excellence, together with the marriage of human achievement and technological development, has made Rolex a natural partner since its launch in 2019. On the weekend of 14-15 May, Season 3 of the SailGP global championship commences in Bermuda. Across the next twelve months, 10 events will take place in nine countries, pitting ten ultra-competitive national teams against each other in exciting, dramatic, close-quarter action. The competition will visit some of the world’s most renowned sailing locations. Following the opener in Bermuda, events are scheduled for Chicago (United States), Plymouth (England), Copenhagen (Denmark), Saint-Tropez (France), Cadiz (Spain), Dubai (UAE), Singapore, and Christchurch (New Zealand) before the season closes once again with the Grand Final, in San Francisco (United States), in May 2023. The all-conquering Australian crew will seek to retain its title and face opposition from Canada, Denmark, France, Great Britain, Japan, New Zealand, Spain, Switzerland and the United States SailGP teams. SailGP is not only a showcase for blistering speeds and supreme skill on the water, its commitment to the environment and pathway programmes for women and young sailors demonstrate robust and far-reaching legacy ambitions.
