The Excalibur Biretrograde Perpetual Calendar carries forward one of Mr. Roger Dubuis’ most cherished pursuits and the Maison’s founding signature: a mechanism that mirrors the irregular rhythms of the astronomical year, faithfully and without interruption.
Housed in 40 mm of pink gold, this timepiece presents the new RD850 calibre, a new-generation biretrograde perpetual calendar movement developed entirely in-house and certified by the Poinçon de Genève. Its perpetual calendar automatically accounts for months of 28, 30 and 31 days without manual correction, requiring no adjustment until the year 2100.
The biretrograde display, where spring-loaded hands sweep elegantly across an arc before snapping back to their origin, transforms the reading of date and day into something deliberate and alive. At 6 o’clock, an astronomical moonphase tracks the lunar cycle with a precision of one day over 122 years, its aventurine disc set with a domed 18K pink gold moon.
Open-worked and structured across nine layers of Astral Blue, the dial reveals a three-dimensional architecture where Genevan tradition and celestial observation converge.
