Project 821 – Launch | Feadship

Say hello to the 118.80-metre Project 821, the world’s first hydrogen fuel-cell superyacht.
Five years in the making, innovation-packed Feadship Project 821 is the answer to a fundamental question: “How far can we push green technology on superyachts?”

Feadship’s R&D team has been researching hydrogen, among other fossil-free fuel options, as part of the company’s pledge to develop “net zero” yachts by 2030. Although there are hydrogen fuel cells in use for more than six decades, nothing existed in the maritime sector up to this moment. Project 821’s pioneering fuel cell technology can provide an entire week’s worth of silent operation at anchor or navigating emission-free at 10 knots while leaving harbours or cruising in protected marine zones with their only exhaust being pure water.
