When Henri Matisse created “Blue Nude III,” he was also writing, or better: rewriting history. One of the most iconic works from his celebrated cut-out series, the Masters of Art Homage to Henri Matisse Limited Edition 4810 translates its motif into distinctive design details.
What appears at first sight to be an abstract interplay of luminous blue and white lacquer reveals the iconic motif from “Blue Nude III” as the writing instrument is rotated. The handcrafted, rhodium-coated, solid Au 750 gold nib is embossed with two botanical elements reminiscent of “The Sheaf” and the interwoven letters ‘H’ and ‘M.
