Parents Talks – Luca Trapanese

Luca and Alba chose each other. Alba, a five-year-old affected by Down syndrome, was left at the hospital right after she was born. When Luca saw her, he immediately knew she was meant to be his daughter. Their story is an intersection of different stories: disability, homosexuality, single fatherhood, adoption. Today, Luca and Alba live a pretty simple life, like any other family. While the challenges of growing up with a disability are many, Luca wants Alba to experience childhood like every other child and learn how to be independent so she can build her own future.
