MEET OUR ARTISANS – Design Drafting by Chopard

Step by step, the unique takes form. Taking the original ideas of our Artistic Director, design drafters initiate the lengthy process whereby jewellery is born. As an Artisan of Emotions with Chopard since 2001, Jean-Claude translates visions into emotions. What started as a love of drawing and a hunch for capturing the attention with catchy graphics now delivers the rich emotions only high jewellery can bring. His part of the symphony is played with his own instrument, the pencil: “Drawing is my language, my way of expressing myself. The emotion I feel when my hand has finally succeeded in accurately translating the idea that I have in mind is indescribable.” Intuition is paired with meticulous research in order to create a level of deep understanding, the only way to pave the way to a sense of belonging and a sense of identity, to the subject, to the collection, to the Maison.
