As part of the 20th anniversary celebration of the Dubai Turtle Rehabilitation Project (DTRP), Jumeirah proudly released 63 rehabilitated turtles back into the wild. This significant event underscores the success of the DTRP, which, since its launch in 2004, has rescued and rehabilitated over 2,175 turtles.
To further raise awareness about marine conservation, Jumeirah hosted a panel discussion titled ‘Out of Sight is not Out of Mind: Our Collective Responsibility to Preserve our Ocean’. Held in Dubai just before World Sea Turtle Day on 16th June, the panel featured globally renowned experts including H.E. Razan Al Mubarak (IUCN), Barbara Lang-Lenton (DTRP lead), Jo Ruxton (Ocean Generation), and Dr. Juan Antonio Romero (Mission Blue).
The discussion highlighted the global challenges of marine conservation, with a focus on the importance of collaboration, innovative solutions, and the critical roles of education and youth engagement in ensuring a sustainable future for our oceans.
Through initiatives like the DTRP, Jumeirah continues to demonstrate its commitment to marine conservation and environmental stewardship.
