The UN General Assembly has proclaimed December 3rd as the International Day of Persons with Disabilities to promote awareness of disability issues and ways for people with disabilities to fully integrate with society.
Over the past year, we spoke to people with disabilities and advocates to understand how we can work together to ensure inclusivity and accessibility at the museum and within the community at large. This is their response.
أعلنت الجمعية العامة للأمم المتحدة يوم 3 ديسمبر يومًا عالميًّا للأشخاص ذوي الإعاقة. ويهدف هذا اليوم لتعزيز الوعي بشأن القضايا المتعلقة بالإعاقة وطرق دمج المعاقين بالمجتمع بشكل كامل.
خلال العام الماضي، تحدثنا مع أشخاص من ذوي الإعاقة ومن المهتمين بهذا الموضوع، حول الطرق المناسبة للعمل معًا وضمان إمكانية وصول ذوي الاحتياجات الخاصة، ومشاركتهم داخل المتحف الوطني وفي المجتمع القطري ككل. وقد كانت ردودهم وتعليقاتهم كما يلي:
