Hazawy is a new series from Qatar Museums that depicts Qatari folklore through animation.
Pearl diving was and still is a historic profession for the people of the Arabian Gulf. There are many myths and stories that came from the pearl divers of ancient times, including the legend of Mai and Ghaylan, which tells the story of how the invention of the sail came to be. Our first episode of Hazawy is a story of competition, camaraderie, and innovation, this tale highlights the role of female dhow owners in the history of sailing on the Arabian Gulf.

“حزاوي” هي سلسلة جديدة لمتاحف قطر تجسّد التراث الشعبي القطري (الفلكلور) من خلال الرسوم المتحركة.
لقد كان الغوص بحثًا عن اللؤلؤ، ولا يزال، مهنة لسكان الخليج العربي على مدار التاريخ، فهناك العديد من الأساطير والقصص المستمدّة من غواصي اللؤلؤ في العصور القديمة، منها أسطورة مي وغيلان التي تحكي قصة اختراع الشراع. الحلقة الأولى من “حزاوي” هي قصة منافسة وصداقة وابتكار، تسلط الضوء على مالكات المراكب الشراعية، ودورهن الذي اضطلعن به في تاريخ الإبحار في الخليج العربي.
