Great Spine of Africa Expeditions: Cassai River – Ep. 2

On an extraordinary journey from the Angolan Highlands to the Democratic Republic of the Congo, as part of his Great Spine of Africa Expeditions, Rolex Perpetual Planet Initiative partner and National Geographic Explorer Steve Boyes and his team faced hippos, crocodiles and fast rapids as they documented the ecosystems along unexplored waterways. Gathering information about the water, biodiversity, cultures and traditions along the way, they will be able to create hydrological and ecological baselines that can be used to track the rivers’ health for decades to come.
