In conversation — Miren Arzalluz, director of the Palais Galliera in Paris, and Oriole Cullen, curator at the V&A South Kensington in London, discuss the genesis of the ‘Gabrielle Chanel. Fashion Manifesto’ exhibition and the making of its British adaptation. The first retrospective devoted to the work of Gabrielle Chanel in the United Kingdom, the exhibition premiered in Paris in 2020 and has, for its London launch, been enriched with more than one hundred pieces, including rarely seen creations from the V&A’s collection and looks drawn from personal collections gathered around the world.
This exhibition was created in partnership with the Palais Galliera, the Fashion Museum of the City of Paris, and with the support of CHANEL. Now open at the V&A South Kensington, it will run through February 25th, 2024.
