After developing gem-setting techniques for Carbon TPT®, Richard Mille engineers sought to extend this approach to new materials. Ceramic quickly emerged as a natural direction, as it had never been explored in this context before. This advancement allows diamonds to be integrated directly into the material without artifice, made possible by a mitraillage process executed through precise machining.
Individually produced and meticulously polished to ensure a perfectly smooth feel, white gold prongs, each measuring just 0.25 millimetres in diameter, are embedded within the structure. They receive and secure the diamonds set by hand. The stones themselves are full-cut diamonds, carefully selected for their exceptional clarity. The result is a striking interplay between the deep, velvety tones of the ceramic and the brilliance of the diamonds, enhanced by the subtle presence of their gold prongs.
