Inaugurating our Conversations program is the Premiere Artist Talk with artist Alicja Kwade, who will discuss her monumental installation at Place Vendôme. It will offer the audience the opportunity to immerse themselves in her creative process.

Alicja Kwade was born in 1979 in Katowice (Poland). She lives and works in Berlin (Germany). Kwade’s work investigates and questions the structures of our reality and society and reflects on the perception of time in our everyday life. Her diverse practice is based around concepts of space, time, science and philosophy, takes shape in sculptural objects, video and even photography. Kamel Mennour and Alicja Kwade have been working together since 2013.
Pierre-Alexandre Mateos and Charles Teyssou are independent curators living and working in Paris. They are the curators of the first edition of Paris + by Art Basel Conversations program. Their current projects are Paris Orbital, a public program at the Pinault Collection – Bourse de Commerce on pulp mythologies related to Paris, a publication on homosexual cruising with HEAD (Geneva) and Spector Books (Leipzig), and the presentation of their research Arles Terminal City (arlesterminalcity.com) commissioned by the LUMA Foundation (Arles) during the 2022 edition of ARTBO (Bogotà). They are preparing an exhibition on Sybille Ruppert at Blue Velvet Projects in Zurich and on the poet Zoë Lund in 2023 in Paris.
