Continuity and Change
Today, in celebration of the Maison’s 270th anniversary, the Manufacture unveils the astronomical clock ‘La Quête du Temps’ to the public at @MuseeLouvre, a milestone in the Maison’s partnership with the museum.
On 17 September 1755, the day that Vacheron Constantin was founded, Venus, Mars, Jupiter and Saturn were visible above Geneva, along with an interesting conjunction between the Sun and Jupiter.
270 years later, ‘La Quête du Temps’ masterpiece features a glass dome decorated with a representation of the celestial vault as it would have appeared in the sky above Geneva on the day that Vacheron Constantin was founded.
