Cartier and European Artistic Craft Days: Anne Midavaine

As part of its first year of involvement in the European Artistic Craft Days (EACD), Cartier invited the public into selected boutiques to discover exceptional works of art and their secrets. Anne Midavaine is a lacquer artist. Located in Paris, the Atelier Midavaine represents three generations of lacquer-making techniques. It all began after World War I with Louis Midavaine, a former student of the Beaux-Arts, who opened a specialist lacquer workshop and made furniture, woodwork and decorative objects for private homes and palatial Parisian hotels.
