The 750S was created with the goal of beating McLaren’s own benchmarks.
So, when we heard that British racing driver and Channel 4 F1 presenter Billy Monger and renowned stuntman David Holmes were in a pursuit to defy the limitations imposed by their life-altering accidents, and shatter personal records by breaking the 180mph barrier, there was only one supercar for it.
In this adrenaline-fueled Channel 4 feature film, Billy and David showcase their unwavering determination to inspire others to push beyond their own boundaries.
Billy Monger’s journey is a testament to the power of resilience and the pursuit of dreams. In 2017, a devastating Formula 4 accident led to the amputation of both his legs. However, Monger refused to let this setback extinguish his passion for racing. With an undying spirit and unwavering determination, he has since become a beacon of inspiration for millions worldwide.
David Holmes, celebrated for his work as a stunt double for Daniel Radcliffe in the Harry Potter film series, encountered his own life-altering accident during the filming of “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows” in 2009. Despite being left partially paralyzed, Holmes has never allowed his circumstances to dampen his thirst for adrenaline and the thrill of pushing boundaries.
Lifelong friends Billy Monger and David Holmes’s paths converged during Billy’s childhood where his mother worked as a makeup artist, and would encourage Billy whilst on set to spend time with David in the stunt department.
United by their shared experiences and a profound love for speed, the duo has a special bond.
We proudly support and celebrate the incredible journeys of Billy Monger and David Holmes: as a brand committed to innovation and pushing the limits, McLaren is honoured to be part of this extraordinary project.
