Autumn-Winter 2022-2023 Haute Couture Lace Embroideries

In the Paris ateliers of Maison Vermont, panels destined for a Dior Autumn-Winter 2022-2023 Haute Couture dress by Maria Grazia Chiuri are undergoing an unexpected transformation. While the collection boasts several examples of lacework, here the effect is being created using embroidery instead. As the fabric base is progressively cut away, the increasingly embellished elements are connected in a trompe l’oeil manner that testifies to the evolving adaptability of this age-old savoir-faire.
