Dena Yago, Artist and Writer, New York City

Art and fashion often flirt with each other. From Salvador Dalí and Schiaparelli to Cindy Sherman and Balenciaga, history is studded with examples of friendship and collaboration across disciplines. This panel looks at the future of this relationship with ALL–IN, a magazine and experimental brand, and Dena Yago, an artist known for her forays into the fashion world through her trend forecasting collective K-HOLE, her creative agency Applied Arts, and through marketing with The Browser Company of New York.

In collaboration with System magazine.

ALL–IN is a multidisciplinary design studio and magazine based in Paris. Founded by Benjamin Barron and Bror August Vestbø, the brand centers around the reconstruction of existing garments, creating a mix of ready-to-wear and one-of-a-kind artisanal pieces, footwear, and accessories.

Dena Yago is an artist, writer, and founding member of the trend forecasting group K-HOLE. Her recent exhibitions and presentations include ‘The Modern Window’ at The Museum of Modern Art, New York (2024); ‘Induction’ at The Intermission, Athens (2024); ‘CAPACITY’ at JTT, New York; and ‘Industry City’ at High Art, Paris (2022). Yago’s recent publications include Fade the Lure (After Eight Books, 2019). Her writing has appeared in e-flux, Flash Art, and Frieze. Beyond her visual practice, Yago works as a marketer and strategist. She co-founded the artist-based consultancy Yago Salter Applied Arts and currently works at The Browser Company of New York. Yago lives and works in New York City.

Ana Viktoria Dzinic is a London-based artist and the special projects curator at System Magazine. Her work is concerned with concepts of image-circulation, subjectivity production and representational systems. Visually, these concepts are imagined as lens-based paintings, events, or installations made from readymade objects. Outside of the fine art context, Dzinic has created work for brands including Balenciaga, Gucci, and Burberry.

The Art Basel Paris 2024 Conversations program is curated by Pierre-Alexandre Mateos and Charles Teyssou.
