It is more important than ever to protect and preserve our environment and at Four Seasons Resort Mauritius at Anahita, we are proud to have a number of sustainability practices in place.
Our Resort is nestled in a 64-acre tropical sanctuary on the east coast of Mauritius. To keep our gardens flourishing, we have an irrigation system that operates with recycled water that is processed on-site. Other key sustainability initiatives in place include an in-house water bottling plant that produces 13,000 bottles yearly for both our guests and our employees and the removal of single-use plastics across the Resort.
We also work with WiseOceans, our marine education, and conservation partner, to help educate our guests of all ages about marine conservation and the importance of the ocean. In March 2017, Four Seasons and WiseOceans began to put in place the foundations of the La Passe Cadet Reef Restoration Project. This underwater nursery provides a protected area for baby fragments of coral to grow, before being transplanted back to the reef once reaching a certain size. To date, 1,000 baby corals have been nursed and transplanted successfully. WiseOceans also play an active role in marine education within the Resort and allow guests the opportunity to connect and engage to learn more about the underwater world. In collaboration with WiseOceans, 200 guests have joined us to make a Promise to the Reef – a pledge on how to make a small lifestyle change to lower their carbon footprint.
