Piyush Tewari – Saving lives on India’s roads

Motivated by the unnecessary death of his cousin in a road accident where bystanders typically ignored the victim’s plight, successful Indian businessman and 2010 Rolex Awards for Enterprise Laureate Piyush Tewari gave up his career to concentrate on helping to save the lives of his compatriots on the country’s chaotic roads. Since 2008, he has worked through his SaveLIFE Foundation to train about 20,000 police officers and 10,000 citizen volunteers as medical first-responders and to introduce innovations including the Good Samaritan Law and the Zero Fatality Corridor − all leading to dramatic reductions in road accident mortality. Tewari’s work meshes perfectly with Rolex’s Perpetual Planet initiative to ensure human-well-being. Discover more https://on.rolex.org/3JgkIWi
