The 35th Maxi Yacht Rolex Cup delivered another consummate series of maxi yacht racing. It was not easy for the Yacht Club Costa Smeralda which, in collaboration with the International Maxi Association, had to rely upon all their experience to circumnavigate a full range of wind strengths during the week. The participating crews should be congratulated for stepping up and a producing spellbinding display of competitive action in one of yachting’s most glorious locations. The winners will be remembered for their achievements, particularly Galateia for victory in the Rolex IMA Maxi 1 World Championship, and Django 7x for success in the Rolex IMA Maxi Grand Prix World Championship. All in all, the regatta was an apt celebration of 40 years of partnership between the Title Sponsor, Rolex, and an event which continues to go from strength to strength.
