Emmanuel Perrotin, Gallerist, Paris
Julie Boukobza, Founder of Pourquoi Paris ? and Head of the Luma Arles Residency Program, Paris
Mina Soltangheis, Chief Innovation Officer, Wondeur AI, Toronto
Moderator: Martin Bethenod, Writer and curator, Paris
Panel introduction: Jean Gazançon, CEO, ARTE Generali

What makes Paris a magnet for the global art world today? Gathering gallerist Emmanuel Perrotin, and Wondeur AI’s Chief Innovation Officer Mina Soltangheis, this panel will examine how France’s distinctive art ecosystem – where just over half of exhibitions feature artists from the local scene – balances national identity with international reach. The discussion will explore how institutions and galleries intersect, and how curatorial priorities, funding structures, and market mechanisms shape artistic visibility, define career trajectories, and influence the workings of the French art world today. This conversation will be moderated by Martin Bethenod.

Emmanuel Perrotin opened his first gallery in 1990 when he was 21. Over the past 30 years, he has collaborated closely with his artists to bring their ambitious projects to fruition. Perrotin currently operates galleries in nine cities – Paris, Hong Kong, New York City, Seoul, Tokyo, Shanghai, Los Angeles, London, and Dubai – and represents about 100 artists of 28 nationalities.

Julie Boukobza is Head of the Luma Arles Residency Program since 2017 and an independent curator based in Paris, founder of the curatorial platform Pourquoi Paris ? in 2022.

Mina Soltangheis is a computer scientist, AI researcher, and creative technologist advancing ethical, human-centered intelligence. A former researcher at MIT Media Lab and IDEO, she has led AI research in industry and academia, including as the head of research and development at Flybits and now as chief innovation officer at Wondeur AI, developing next-generation intelligence across a USD 3 trillion alternative asset class. Through research affiliations with MIT and the University of Toronto, Soltangheis bridges academia and real-world applications, driving responsible AI with global impact.

Journalist, editor, curator, and teacher, Martin Bethenod has directed numerous public and private institutions, including the visual arts department of the French Ministry of Culture; the Foire Internationale d’Art Contemporain (FIAC); and the Pinault Collection museums in Venice and Paris. He is also the president of the Centre d’Art Contemporain d’Ivry – Le Crédac, and of the Archives de la Critique d’Art.
