Few watches tapped into the watch-collecting zeitgeist as effectively in the last few years as the third-generation Vacheron Constantin Overseas. From its elegant character to its quick-change integrated bracelet and strap system, the Overseas was primed to succeed in the world of stainless steel sports watches. And succeed it did. The Overseas has become a darling of the enthusiast space, and a favorite of many.

But while the Overseas has grown to be loved, it wasn’t without a somewhat slow start. Out the gate, the Overseas was overlooked in favor of some of its more established peers. It was against this background that we were given the brown dialed Overseas. Released four months after the 2016 launch of the third-generation Overseas, the brown dial 4500V was only produced for a year before its disappearance.

Having been produced for such a short time, and in such limited quantities during that time, the brown-dialed Overseas is an object of genuine rarity and is definitely worth a look, if you ever have the chance.
