2022/23 Métiers d’art CHANEL – DAKAR Show – A Documentary Series by Ladj Ly and Kourtrajmé


Directed by the students from the Kourtrajmé film schools, which were founded by Ladj Ly in Dakar and Montfermeil, this last episode in a four-part series documents the artistic synergies around the 2022/23 Métiers d’art CHANEL – DAKAR show: Literary Rendezvous with writer Marie NDiaye and actress Rokhaya Niang, collaboration between the dancer and choreographer Dimitri Chamblas and the École des Sables founded by Germaine Acogny, performances by rapper NIX and singers Obree Daman and CKay, and discussion between Pharrell Williams and Dakar students.

Opening credits of this episode include a photograph by Malick Bodian – headdresses styled by Jenke Ahmed Tailly.
