2021 Rolex Awards Laureate Documentary: Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim

Hindou Oumarou Ibrahim’s commitment to indigenous culture, climate resilience and collaborative solutions to protect the environment has earned her international acclaim. The 2021 Rolex Awards for Enterprise Laureate from Chad’s nomadic Mbororo people was alerted to her country’s dwindling resources by the depletion of Lake Chad, which is now less than five per cent of its former area. An ardent peacemaker, using technology she has instituted participatory mapping to help manage natural resources. Different communities and age groups come together to map and agree on solutions to competing needs. Discover more https://on.rolex.org/3GfpxBg
